Enphase IQ 7 and IQ 7+Microinverters

Enphase Energy is one of the most important companies in the business of micro-inverters, with more than 10 years in the market, more than 14 million production units shipped across the world and more than 580 thousand installations done.

Micro inverters are a great alternative to the common ‘string’ solar inverter and are used in over half of all solar installations in North America.

A micro inverter is as very small inverter designed to be attached each individual solar panel. This is much different to common string solar inverters which are usually located on a wall some distance from the string of solar panels and connected via DC cable. In string inverter systems, DC power from the string of the panels is then converted to AC at the inverter. Since micro Inverters are attached to every solar panel, each panel works independently from the rest of the solar array and DC power is converted to AC immediately on the roof.

Enphase IQ 7 Micro-inverter Series

This new product is listed under UL and conforms to NEC-2014 and 2017 to comply with Rapid Shutdown Requirements. It offers two types of models: IQ7, IQ 7 PLUS. The new development of this technology as a whole new system is that it performs on a smart grid environment to administrate the power energy production depending on tariffs and electricity rates at your convenience.

A new Enphase IQ Envoy needs to be coupled with the IQ7 Series and is capable of monitoring up to 600 Enphase IQ7 micro-inverters and 39 IQ Batteries. These Lithium batteries have a single capacity of 1.2 kWh, therefore, in order to size your battery system, you must couple as many batteries of this capacity as necessary to comply with your stored energy requirements.

The difference among available IQ7 models lies in application and size.

The IQ7 and the IQ7+ supports PV modules with 60-72 cells. Another particularly interesting feature of these models is that they do not require grounding electrode conductors and have Class II double insulated rating with ground fault protection. Regarding lightning and surge protection, as with other micro-inverters they have internal surge protection but it is advisable to add an external SPD.

Enphase IQ Envoy

The Enphase IQ Envoy enables remote system monitoring and updates capabilities for Enphase IQ microinverter systems. The IQ Envoy communicates with IQ microinverters, transmitting performance and production data which can be viewed either directly from the IQ Envoy or online from any internet-connected device. The IQ Envoy is easy to install with integrated Wi-Fi and ethernet connection options. Enphase also offers cellular data plans for monitoring sites where an internet connection isn’t available. The IQ Envoy is capable of revenue-grade metering and meets ANSI C12.20 standards. Compatible with Enphase IQ 6+ Microinverter, Enphase IQ6, IQ7+, IQ7X, and IQ7

Thanks to the IQ Envoy, Enphase brings you ease, insights, with reliable solar energy. It features the intelligence to adapt to changing grid requirements via automatic remote updates that Envoy downloads and pushes out to your microinverters.

Features

The Envoy delivers performance data from your microinverters to the Web and carries system updates from the Web to your microinverters. Two directions, optimal benefits.

The Envoy brings you the real-time, module-level performance data that makes it easy to monitor your system or fleet from any web-connected device.

The IQ Envoy lets you pinpoint performance issues instantly and resolve them remotely, before they get in the way of system performance.

IronRidge – XR Rails

IronRidge is a global leader in solar racking founded in the mid-1990’s and has since supported the growth of the industry by developing code-compliant racking solutions for roof and ground-mount solar installations. The company’s racking components are designed and tested to withstand extreme weather conditions and are certified for compliance with the latest engineering and building codes.

The IronRidge Roof Mount System featuring the XR Rail Family provides the durability and versatility to handle virtually any residential or commercial rooftop. IronRidge builds the strongest roof mounting system in solar. Every component has been tested to the limit and proven in extreme environments.

IronRidge Rails are certified for integrated grounding. The IronRidge Integrated Grounding System bonds solar module frames directly to IronRidge solar panel mounting rails, eliminating the need for separate module grounding parts and procedures. This system eliminates separate module grounding components and procedures, making it very installer-friendly.

The XR Rail Family offers the strength of a curved rail in three targeted sizes with 20 Year Warranty

Sizes

The XR10 Series can handle between 0 to 30 PSF snow loads, up to 160 MPH wind speeds, and can be installed between a 4’ and 6’ span.

The XR100 rail is the most popular residential rooftop solution from IronRidge and can handle between 0 to 70 PSF snow load, up to 160 MPH wind speeds, and can be installed between a 4’ to 8’ span.

The XR1000 series is predominately used for ground-mount arrays but may be used in rooftop applications where extreme weather is prevalent. The rails can handle between 0 to 90 PSF snow loads, up to 160 MPH wind speeds, and can be installed between a 4’ and 12’ span.

Enphase MyEnlighten Mobile Application

With the Enphase Enlighten mobile app, you can check your system’s status at-a-glance without scrolling and still dive into the details of your system’s health and performance, per-panel production all while on-the-go.You can view overall energy and per-panel energy production data within a single click as well as overviews of your energy consumption and storage (if applicable).
